In 1977 I was a young mother of 2 small children; a walking bundle of nerves, bewildered by responsibilities that were piling up faster than dirty laundry. I feared I might traumatize my kids with my sheer incompetence (not having had a role model to emulate.) I turned to the ancient remedy of alcohol to keep calm– it didn’t work. As my guilt and fear escalated, I was on the verge of a breakdown. Luckily, I was gifted with an angelic presence who guided me to pick up the local Pennysaver. And there I found an ad for a Yoga class at the New Age Center. “Go, sign up,” it said. The instructor was a guy named John (who later became a chiropractor.) He told me about the seminar, A Course in Miracles, being given there at the center. He said, “It changed my life!”  My heart leaped at his words, and I knew I had to get there on Thursday. As I crossed the threshold of the door into the lecture room, I had the overwhelming feeling of discovering an oasis in the desert. And I’ve been basking in the warm glow of that sanctuary ever since.

Rev MarciaGrace received a B.A. in philosophy and religion from Stony Brook University in 1990.

In 1995 she graduated from The New Seminary and was ordained as an Interfaith minister. She has performed hundreds of weddings and baby blessings, taught classes in metaphysics and religion for 40+ years and has spoken at various religious and secular groups throughout the New York metropolitan area.

She has organized and led several spiritual retreats on Long Island and has been a chaplain at Northwell Health in Manhasset.

MarciaGrace has spent more than 40 years studying and teaching the principles of A Course in Miracles. She holds classes locally on Long Island.

She had always dreamed of living near the sea and in 2007, moved to Sound Beach on the north shore of Long Island, where she walks to the beach as often as she can. She has served on the board of the Sound Beach Property Owners Association to support her community.

She loves gardening, cats, dogs, chickens and all manner of furred and feathered life and enjoys watching her hens rummage in the compost pile in her backyard as her feline companion, Clawdia, chases them around!
